It was a relatively peaceful day.
'Relatively' being the key word.
Because while the birds are chirping and the skies are clear and the wind is blowing pleasantly, for the trainees in the Training Order, it was another day in hell with the instructors who may or may not be demons in disguise.
Rylen sighed as he slowly made his way to the infirmary with his arm throbbing in pain. He felt like he'd launched more arrows than he'd ever had in his short 18 years of life here in the Training Order and his arm was starting to feel it. The training never lets up and they could barely get a breather during sessions. It was a vicious undertaking.
Not wanting to risk losing his arm, he had decided to make his way to the infirmary as soon as the training ended, to ask for a medicine that could relieve the pain. It was better to be safe than sorry, that's what he'd always believed.
Reaching the door to the infirmary, Rylen gingerly opened the door and stepped in. He looked around until his gaze landed on a young woman, probably around his age, looking at him with a sour look on her face.
He smiled sheepishly, thinking that he was bothering her. He'd have to be quick, get medicine and leave immediately. "Um, hello ma'am. Might you be the medic? My arm is bothering me and I'd like to ask if you have any medicine for it?"

Rosalia’s face quickly turned to her normal mask – the mask that her dear father has told her to wear at all time for so many times now – after realizing the mix of brown and black uniform of the person right at their Infirmary’s door.
“Why hello.” She said with a smile, as her eyes traveled to the trainee’s arm, noticing some light bruises over its skin. “Oh my…” Rosalia exclaimed as she placed a hand on her mouth. Even though no matter how she might fake a calm demeanor, she cares a lot to people who are hurt.
Except for, maybe one. She peeked at the window side again, and still could see Kisara right through it. Or… maybe three. She added as she remembers the other two nobles who are currently present in Antar.
As duty calls her, she immediately took a piece of paper from her desk drawer and drawn a book of records from the line of six bounded materials on top of her desk. She also pulled a pen and ink and scribbled some notes on the empty paper. “Your name?” She said in her outmost gentle voice. “And Batch, please.”

Rylen walked into the infirmary upon seeing the girl's welcoming demeanor. He saw her glance out of the window for a moment before busying herself in her desk, taking out a piece of paper and a bound book.
'Must be the records.' Rylen thought absently.
He sat on the chair in front of the desk and waited patiently as Rosalia took a pen and ink. "Your name? And batch, please." He heard her ask.
"Rylen Cotterill from Batch 2, ma'am." Rylen responded quickly.

“Rylen Cotterill.” Rosalia worded out as she scribbles the trainee’s name on the piece of paper and something else into the book she was holding.
The medic immediately turned to Rylen as she was finished, crossing the distance between them and approached the sitting trainee. “You said your arm is hurting. Have you been abusing it lately?” She reached for his upper arm to give a light press on the muscles and down up to his wrist. She also pulled the arm higher and lower it in a slow pace, careful not to push any pain through in case it does have some broken bones.

Rylen suppressed the urge to wince as the medic lightly pressed the sore muscles on his arm. Despite how the girl tried to keep her probings light and gentle, it still sent slow, pulsing pain on his arm.
"Uh...abuse is a strong word..." Rylen started, looking away in embarrassment. What was he supposed to say? He was just pushing it to the limit? That didn't sound any different though.
He had been trying to ease the pain the moment it started by rubbing some salve on his arm. But it seems like it wasn't a very effective remedy...or he just pushed his arm faster than it could heal.
Having taken to practicing his aim and techniques even after training hours, he barely parts with his bow and arrows. And now this is the consequence. But he really couldn't regret it much since he had seen some improvement on his aims. He'd even started practicing some close combat techniques although that one was progressing slowly.
In any case, he really was in no position to be whining about his injury. Besides, he was sure it was the same for the rest of the trainees with their chosen weapons. They're all probably nursing their own various injuries, one time or another.
"I've been rubbing some salve on it." Rylen shared, "but I guess it couldn't keep up with our training regimen. Haha." He laughed sheepishly, bringing his left arm up to rub the back of his neck. "I...I think it's just sore though...nothing broken. I guess I'm just looking for a stronger medicine to help with muscle pains."

Rosalia raised a brow at Rylen. “Abuse is rather a fitting word in a Training Ground like Antar. I actually imagined trainees lining up for the infirmary on their first day.” She laughed a little while trying to return Rylen’s hand to rest. “Too bad it was only a little after that it happened with only one patient. Though I am happy that no one is getting hurt… that much. Somehow…”
Listening to Rylen, Rosalia leaped on her feet and went to take some stuff at the cupboard (with no cups) and took a bottle of ointment and three different powder medicines together with a towel and a box. She also took cold water from the sink into a bowl and placed them on her table.
“Salve can somehow help, but only temporary. And if you continue to use your arms for training, obviously, it will never heal.” Rosalia said after hearing all of Rylen’s explanations. “Soreness and muscle pains are normal in the military and it takes them days to get healed and get back to their original shape.” She went to Rylen again with a soaked towel in her hand. “Could you roll up your selves? If that’s hard, remove your uniform top.”
Rosalia waited until Rylen could do as she instructed and at the same time, her eyes landed to General Kisara again outside of her window.
“You’ve met General Kisara in training, right?” She asked blankly.

Rylen sighed as he listened to Rosalia. He thought as much. All his arm needed was a chance to heal. But he was too anxious with his training so he spent most of his free time trying to train some more.
When he heard her instruction, Rylen struggled to roll his sleeve up his sore arm, wincing slightly as the cloth pushed into his muscles. He'd rather not undress in front of a lady even though it was for medical purposes.
It took a few seconds longer and some considerable pain but he managed to fully roll the sleeve up, thankful that it was a stretchy material. He was about to tell her that he's done with her instruction when she spoke. “You’ve met General Kisara in training, right?”
Upon hearing Rosalia's seemingly random and casual question, he looked at her and then out the window she had been staring. There, he saw the dark-haired general in question.
Rylen blinked and then turned to look at Rosalia again. "Oh....um, yeah. She's one of our instructors after all." Rylen replied. 'A very intimidating one.' His mind whispered.
He didn't say that aloud though.

Rosalia went and applied the towel with cold water into his arms, caressing it lightly to both clean and apply some cold compress into Rylen’s sore muscles. Good thing her mind is back again on track after Rylen had answered.
“Well, I guess you would…” She trailed off now that she’s concentrating on her work. After a few more strokes, she went and got a cup and water and out them on the tableside close to Rylen. Making him take the cup from a level that his hand might hurt is not too wise – a teaching his father had always gave her whenever she needs to deal with an injured person who can still move. “Drink these.” She followed with the two powder medicines that she had prepared beforehand, decided to separate the other one. “They are pain killers. Not really 100 % effective but I’m afraid giving you strong medicine for anti-pain will only confuse you more on what level you should train. I suggest you rest your body for two days without touching your weapon. I will have to write an excuse for you to your instructors as well.”
After a while, she also took the ointment from her table and then went back to Rylen. She took the towel off, making sure to caress a few strokes before putting it back to the bowl of water. With two fingers, she started applying the salve on the scars, all external pain that her patient might feel. “This one is a little bit stronger than those sold in the grounds. So it will take 24 hours for it to work at its best. So I hope you won’t take a bath before then and don’t do anything that could strain you if you want to be fully healed.” She spoke with authority. Well, it’s not that she needed it since patients usually take her word for real. Or maybe she just got it from her father for talking too much and observing the old man.
“And yes, this includes resting from training, Rylen.” She added before the guy would even think of picking up his weapon again after this.

Rylen sighed softly as the cool towel was applied on his sore arm. It provided his arm some much needed relief as he took the medicines Rosalia offered and downed them quickly with the water she provided. He grimaced at the bitter taste and suppressed the urge to gag.
After the taste in his mouth has become bearable, Rylen listened to Rosalia as she explained his condition. He blanched when she had told him he had to rest for two days.
Two days!
That's two long days wasted. Rylen wanted to curse at his predicament but held his tongue. Would the instructors actually agree to that? He really didn't want to waste two long days just resting though, but he knew his arm needed it.
Rylen tried to keep his disappointment hidden as Rosalia started rubbing ointment on his arm and giving further instructions. It seems he had no choice this time. At least next time, he knows not to wait until his arm gets to this point.
"Okay then, thank you Miss. I will do as you prescribed." Rylen said with a defeated sigh. He'll have to make do and just observe the others as they train. Maybe he'll learn a few things that he could incorporate to his own training once he's healed.

“Don’t worry. Once your muscles are healed, they will be even tougher than before.” Rosalia comforted the down faced trainee. “Once you feel no pain already, if you continue your usual training, I think there is lesser chance that you will feel sore again. Unless you up your regimen more than needed. So please be careful.”
The medic went to back to her table to scribble some notes again and then opened the box that she had took before. From there, she got two tablets, medicine that was developed through years of study by the Development team. These tablets are only developed for the sake of the military and only circulate within military boundaries.
“After two days,” Rosalia went back to Rylen and handed over the two tablets. “when your muscles no longer hurt, take one of these. It’s nothing special. It’s just a small supplement that was made in order to make your body respond more to your training. It will somehow prevent any soreness from minimum training.” She explained.
The medicine is not that powerful but it proves helpful to the soldiers that had taken them in after a long battle and being injured.
“And take this.” She handed the paper that she was once writing before. “You need to show these to any of your instructors to excuse you for two days from intensive movements. And don’t forget not to overwork yourself next time. I don’t like tending to over fatigue patients. At least come with an injury or something serious.” She joked at the trainee while giggling.
But perhaps, half of it is true.

His cheeks flushed slightly and he ducked his head down as he heard Rosalia's last words. He had wasted her time by not being injured enough and not only that, she was laughing at him.
That sucks.
But not the first time it has happened as far as females are concerned.
With a sigh and a nod, Rylen carefully rolled his sleeve back down and took the proffered items. He gingerly folded the note and slipped it into his pocket and then studied the two tablets. "I should take one of these after two days right? But what about the last one? When do I take it? The next day? The next two days?" He asked, wanting to be as precise as possible.
He needs to make sure he was always in his best condition, as much as possible. This is a lesson for him.
