Setting:
Location: Dormitory (outside)
Side Quest: Ghost Within Grounds
Time: Late night after the events of Antar Public Bathhouse - A Steamy Gathering

The shadows of the night had already fallen over their surroundings -- but it hadn't stopped them.
In fact, Auris personally hadn't even noticed how late it had gotten. Neither had it occured to him that they should have been inside right now, nor that they would have to get up early tomorrow.
Way too busy experimenting with their newly acquired weapons, all the other things had moved to the background.

".. Well, that didn't do much." He disappointedly reflected on his latest attempt to get the orb to work. He had to try something else if he wanted results.
I wonder if anything will happen if I.. Carefully holding the weapon with both hands, he focused his mind and thought strongly about a flame. Just a little one, the size of that on a lit candle.
Auris had no idea if any of his attempts would eventually work, no idea whatever would be the right way to do it. Surely he had read a thing or two about magic weaponry, but without proper instructions, there was no way to guarantee whether these things applied to this specific weapon -- no less if the information was accurate at all, or even up to date.
Still no signs of fire anywhere, the trainee sighed. "Oh, come on.. It can't be that hard, can it?"
He had expected this to be easier, if even only a little. Of course, waiting for the training to begin would be the safer and more effective way, but it couldn't hurt to try something small by himself. When had he ever messed up on these kind of things?
.. Okay, wrong question. But he wasn't alone at least, so surely, nothing bad could happen. Right?

Still not seeing any fire, he pressed his lips together and racked his brain for knowledge, trying to recall more about what he had read in all of these days searching for information. There had to be a way to make this work..
Sighing another time, he took a brief glance at Philip. Earlier this evening, he had run into his fellow trainee just outside of the dormitory. After they had talked for a bit and learned that they both were involved with magic now, the decision to go and practice outside had been made quickly.

"Anything cool happened yet?" Auris asked curiously, quietly hoping for a positive answer.
Perhaps the other trainee had more luck.

He knows that she is fuming mad and he was the sorry bastard to be the end of that wrath. He took a few deep breaths to calm his heart. They may have been at it for 10 minutes but it's seems like a lifetime. He knows the generals are strong but he didn't expect it to be a whole other level.

Loki is surprised at his young cousin’s strength and mastery of using the spear. He guessed that she might have trained with a spear before she chosen the swordstaff as her cursed weapon. Hmmm, maybe the rumor about the cursed weapon has limited choices are true. He thought. Well, forging weapons from a demon’s carcass can be deadly.

As for the state of his attire? Well, a rip on his left sleeve, a few slashes on his chest, shoulders, back and legs. Lucky that he only got two or three very minor grazed wounds. But he has a feeling that he won't be so lucky in the next attack.

She even broke a tree in half He shuddered as he glance at the state of that tree. Looking back at her, Loki prepared himself for her attack. Seeing the rapid strikes of her spear coming his way, Loki easily evaded some of it and but he still got struck at his leg and arm.

“Merda, Kisara.” He cursed at her then he finally saw an opening. Loki didn't hesitate and went for the kill, with the scabbard he blocked Kisara’s attack. Then counter attack with ‘Sharp Nail’.

“Sorry little cousin.” He said to her. “But I have to end this.”

Gamiméno Kólasi! She silently cursed in an un-lady like manner. As Loki used his scabbard to block her attack. She made the mistake of giving him an opening and now she tried to evade his slashes but got a hit on her thigh and shoulder. Loki even successfully slashed the front of her jacket and the first three buttons of her inner blouse were slashed as well.

Now with her cleavage peeking from her blouse and her state of attire is almost the same as her opponent. Kisara glared at her tall cousin as she jumbed a few back flips away at least 15 meters from his range. She knew full well that he was trained under the former head of the Equiste House during his time in the Royal Guard, so he is not an easy opponent even with the elemental weapon she is using.

Looking at the cut at her thigh, she saw the long red slash as blood slowly slipping out. To bad I can’t use Rhaegal on me. She thought in frustrating in anger she threw her spear to Loki. She didn’t wait for it to land, she ran quickly after it and when she was in range, she executed a spinning kick towards Loki.

He knows that glare all too well. Kisara is at the end of her rope. He didn’t expect her to throw her weapon, planning to impale him with it. He dodge it in a hair’s breath but he didn’t saw her spinning kick as he was knocked down to the ground.

Out of breath, Loki quickly counter by using the scabbard of his rapier to knock Kisara off of her footing and let her land on top of him. He wanted to hug his cousin for a while now but under different circumstances where him, her and Luci are happy; not this were they are practically trying to kill each other.

Aha! A feeling of victory swept through Auris' mind, but he made sure it would not be seen from the outside. Instead, he kept up his facade to finish the act he and Philip had started. "Oh, thank you!" He replied with a relieved voice. "I promise we'll be back within five minutes. We just have a look and we'll be back inside our rooms before long."

After Philip had prompted him to go, Auris immediately followed the other. He would have began boasting about how well the both of them had acted, but the trainee knew that right now wasn't the time.
After hearing the other offer him to share his supper, the green-haired recruit smiled gratefully. "Thank you for the offer, but.. with training tomorrow, you'll probably need food as much as I do." He answered, unaware of the fact that Philip would have part of his portions left either way. "We got caught together, so we'll share the burden. Besides-- I'd feel bad eating everything while you are hungry, haha." As he spoke, the trainee noticed they were nearing the place he suspected the sound to have come from. He suddenly quieted down and strained his senses, trying to find anything useful to pinpoint the location of the source.

Sadly, it did not give him any leads on where the bang had came from; but he did pick up something else. Voices.. Voices, and then weapons clashing.
Listening closely, he sent a questioning look in Philip's direction, as if asking the other whether he had any idea what this was about. It didn't sound too far away, and from what he could catch, Auris derived that whoever were there sounded pretty angry.
Now, he found himself tied between proceeding to look for the source of the bang, or heading further to have a look at whatever battle was going on out there. Who knows, these two could even be linked.
"..Should we investigate?" He asked in a low voice. "I have a feeling this could be connected to that sound from earlier." He had no idea whether it was true or not, but it was worth considering.

Dianne looked at the two trainees' backs as they went to the direction where the loud noise came from. She shook her head and thought, Youngsters these days, too curious and always gets into trouble. She took out her pocket watch and checked the time.

She told the boys that she will give them five minutes to investigate but she will give them another five since she can be generous. For now she needs to finish her rounds at the dorms. It is getting very late and I am getting very sleepy. She thought with a yawn. Putting her pocket watch back to her pocket and started to continue her rounds to finish it for the night.

Although Philip was trying to go as fast as he could, Auris still overtook him. Actually the skinny one had had enough of that evening. When the two men heard the clashing of weapons he felt a bit of a relief as the unofficial investigation was coming to an end.

Auris' questioning look was met by Philip's tired eyes.

"If you ask me, we're going straight in. Let's get our magic help our side in the fight and then disappear before anybody else wants explanations." he decided promptly.

Then, Aventurra afforded one more sprint towards the sounds of the battle. As soon as he could see the contours of the combatants, he unsheathed his wand, raised it straight to the front and shouted:

"Hold on, warriors of the Order, support is here..." he finished way more silent seeing that the only people fighting were allies.

Aventurra's look was filled with disdain as he witnessed Kisara fall on top of Loki. When he started to think of the Army as of a big joke, she was the last one to give him a ray of hope with her professionalism. Now, even that was gone.

"Ekhm... I'll just back out and head to my room then..." he said in half voice to Auris.

She didn't expected for Loki to trip her using the scabbard of his sword. She felt it hitting at her ankles and she lost her footing, making her fall on top of her cousin. But she used her weapon and free hand to break her fall.

Now she looks like as if she is straddling Loki. Her left hand holding her weapon to which the spear/trident-like head is a few inches away from Loki’s head. Her other hand on his side to help her balance as she looms over him. Not having the care in the world that her older cousin has a good view of her ample cleavage.

She was still pissed at him for her now tattered outfit. Mental note to self. Ask Balthazar to make another outfit like this at the tailor shop. She thought and winced in pain from the long wound that Loki inflicted. I need to have this bandage by Dr. Michael.

Kisara is already used to having injuries or battle wounds from her days as a trainee and in some small missions they had. But this will be first that her cousin inflicted a wound on her. Then she shifted her golden orbs from the similar one of Loki’s to the two newcomers at her right.

Aventurra and Soliphir? She raised a fleek brow as she saw the look of disdain on Philip’s face. She wondered on why he was disappointed, did he expect something other than her and Loki sparring until one of them gives up? She sighed and remembered that it was way past their curfew in the dorms. Is Dianne slacking off?

“Well what do I owe you the pleasure for disturbing me and my cousin’s little sparring session, in this late and way past your curfew.”She said in a dark cold voice to the two trainees and lean back to fully straddle Loki on his stomach. Kisara removed her weapon from sticking out of the ground and laid it horizontally at her lap, with the pointy sharp end at the trainees direction. “Care to explain why you're outside and not at your rooms this late?”

Cazzo! He cursed as he got a full view of his cousin’s unmentionables. Shifting his sole gaze from there up to her face. He tried to match but failed her glare at him. He sighed thinking that he has to buy a box of her favorites at Madam Rose’s in the afternoon. He closed his eye when he heard voices. He looked up to where his cousin was looking and saw two familiar faces in their trainee uniform.

“Aventurra and Soliphir?...omph!” He muttered and went out of breath when Kisara suddenly straddle-more like sat on his stomach. She was not that heavy but sitting on his stomach with some few minor slash wounds he had there is starting sting and he already noticed Kisara winced in pain. He looked at her with concern and looked at the wound he inflicted at her thigh.

“Kisa, we might need to go to the infirmary and bandage that wound of yours.” He said to her with concern in his voice. “And I am sorry for inflicting it.”

Nodding at Philip's reply, Auris quickly followed him. The orb still ready in his hands if need be, he was alert and prepared for any incoming attacks should whatever was fighting hear them approach.
However, as soon as they neared the source of the sound, it seemed that an incoming attack would probably be the last thing they should expect.

Similar to how Philip's face showed a clear disdain, Auris' was covered with confusion. What he saw, he saw clearly -- but it was the context that he wasn't so sure about. He had expected to see them fighting, but instead, they were.. lying on the ground. One leaning over the other.
The trainee blinked a few times, feeling as if he was seeing something he wasn't supposed to see, regardless of whatever should be the correct interpretation of the scene. He wanted to agree with Philip and just head back; but they had been spotted all the same, and now the general spoke up to them.

Care to explain why you're outside and not at your rooms this late?

Auris sighed, knowing they would have to justify -- and perhaps come up with a new excuse -- as to why they were outside yet another time. And seeing how the person questioning them was General Alexandria this time, having her not believe them was the last thing he wanted at this point. He briefly shifted a look towards Philip, but noticed the look on the other trainee's face, and took it upon himself to explain.

"We heard.. We both heard a sound." He began, the unwillingness to lay down the story another time sounding through in his voice. "A loud bang. We were worried and went outside to investigate, that's all."
He stopped explaining there, deciding to keep it short and clear. His amber eyes shifted from Kisara to Loki and back, expecting more questions -- or scepticism at the very least.

Kisara looked at Loki with a look that has a mixture of a poker-face and innocent eyes? Well as she gaze at her cousin who has a look of concern on his face then she remembered the wound on her thigh as it throb painfully. “Alright Loki.” She said with an annoyed tone. “Give me a minute.”

She got off from on top of Loki, carefully stand and not to strain the wound on her right thigh, she used her spear for support. Kisara examine the state of her attire. The top tattered and irreparable. She sighed since she like this outfit too.
With her spear firmly stuck on the ground, Kisara dusty herself and re-evaluate her wounds from this sparring she had with her older cousin.

After counting all her wounds. She gave the two trainees her signature ice glare. She is a little annoyed by the interruption.

Loki sat up as Kisara got off him. He use his scabbard for support and stood up. Sheathing his rapier and attached it back to his belt, Loki dusted himself like Kisara is doing and check his wounds. Lucky that there was no major wounds. Just a few minor slashes every where. But from the sting on his back he can guessed that it was long slash wound.

More scars to add. He sighed and looked at the two trainees standing before them.

Auris

"We heard.. We both heard a sound. A loud bang. We were worried and went outside to investigate, that's all."

"That loud bang you heard is when Kisa used her spear's elemental power to blow up that tree." He said and pointed the ghastly looking tree. "We got a little overboard." Well Kisa got overboard and I was trying to keep myself alive.

He sighed from exhaustion and looked at Kisara who is clearly annoyed and pissed. The he looked back to the trainees and forced a smile. "Since now your curiosity has been sedated a little. Care to write a reflection paper?" He said in a dark authoritative voice. "Explain why you're both still up and out past curfew and if I don't receive it by tomorrow. I might as well let the Lady General here give you a hard time on tomorrows training."

He put his hand on Kisara's shoulder and give a firm grip on her. Hopefully to warn her to be calm and not to burst out like earlier this evening.

Philip watched Kisara stand up and spotted her wounds. He was about to advise her on the choice of herbs to make healing easy and fast, but decided that the generals probably wouldn't want to be taught by new recruits.

Auris' honesty in excusing the pair of trainees seemed to be a right choice as well. It didn't make things better, but not worsening the situation was good enough. Especially if Kisara turned out to be irresponsible enough to blow things up inside the grounds of Antar, in the middle of the night.

Then, the reflection paper demand came from Loki. Actually, it was salvation for the mages who operated mostly with their intellect.

"Yes, sir. You'll get our papers early in the morning." Aventurra responded in a manner suitable for an army training. "Will you, sir, please accept our apologies and permit us to leave now?"

He already planned that he would write about how he expected to meet all of the batch to respond to alarming sounds after curfew. Then, he would describe the way he planned to give magical support if anybody had been losing the fight against expected intruders.

That loud bang you heard is when Kisa used her spear's elemental power to blow up that tree.

Auris' eyes followed the direction Loki was pointing at, quickly spotting what little remained of the ravaged tree. The poor thing barely even looked like something that could have been alive just moments ago.
Why, lucky it was just a tree.. The trainee thought, frowning lightly. Had that been us standing there, we would've had a much bigger problem. If they were always fighting like this outside past curfew, no wonder the trainees weren't allowed to be present. Hey, it all made sense now.

His attention was then drawn back to the others when the advisor continued speaking, his change of tone surprising the trainee. A reflection paper -- and done by tomorrow no less. It wouldn't necessarily require much effort, but it would cost him valuable time he preferred to spend on other things. Moreover.. Was that last addition a threat?
"What, a paper? But--"
Auris watched the other's face for any signs that he was joking, but everything pointed him to the conclusion that Loki was serious about this. Not that he hadn't expected to get in trouble; but having almost gotten away without it, he wasn't happy at all to see that change last-minute.

Under normal circumstances, he would have protested. But alas, this was still a military environment, and the realisation that he was in no position to say anything held him back from doing so. On top of that, Philip replied formally and proper, which served to remind him that should he be the one to create more trouble, they both would feel the consequences.
"Er.. I mean," Auris began, reluctantly correcting himself. His dislike of the consequence was clearly visible, but he didn't act on it. It would mean more trouble than it was worth.

"..Understood." He added with a sigh.

Kisara looked at Loki as he put his hand on her shoulder and felt his grip as a small warning. She let out a small cough to disguise her giggle as she saw the look of the two trainees as he requested for them to write a reflection paper.

With her right hand covering her mouth, Kisara gaze back to the two trainees. She immediately noticed the burnt sleeve of Aventurra. The should have made a second set of uniforms or we should just send two sets.

"While you're thinking of what to write on your reflection paper." She said in monotone. "Find time to fix that uniform of yours. We have a tailor shop the gives discounts to trainees." She explained as she pointed out, spear in hand, at Philip's tattered uniform.

"From the looks of it you might have burned yourself." She said and turned her head to looked at Loki from behind. "As for you Cousin Loki, take responsibility on my injuries. And make sure that Dr. Michael is on duty, I don't want to see Rosalia's annoying death glare on me."

That girl is quite annoying every time I visit the infirmary. What bit her arse to be mad at me, that I don't even mingle with her circles.

Philip's eyes narrowed again when Kisara allowed herself for a giggle that fed the man's doubts on seriousness of the training.

"Yes, ma'am" he responded coldly.

The tailor's shop was the last place on earth Aventurra would want to visit. Especially that he envisaged his clothes to suffer worse damage during the next days of the boot camp.

"Let's go now" he whispered to Auris as soon as the general focused on her cousin again.

Then he turned back and headed to the recruits' rooms shaking his head at the lack of professionalism he had witnessed. After writing the paper requested, he would still have a good few hours of sleep before next morning's assembly. Especially that the two would no longer have to get up for breakfasts.

When Kisara mentioned the burn on Philip's sleeve, Auris feared for a moment she might ask how he had acquired it. Being outside, knowingly past curfew, just to play around with magic might break more than one rule only. Should she ask, it would either force them to come up with new lies, or have them tell the full truth and get themselves in more trouble than it was worth.

Much to Auris' relief, however, she didn't question it. At the very least not openly.
Then when he heard Philip say they should go now, the green-haired recruit quickly nodded without saying a word, and turned around to follow the other trainee back. Something inside of him still expected the other two to call them back and pry further into the situation -- and that worry only fell off his mind when they were out of sight again.

.. Dang.
That had been way too close. Next time, he reasoned, they should keep a better eye on the clock and treat the rules with more regard. That.. Or they should find a better way to remain hidden.
He snickered quietly at the thought. It wouldn't be very wise to continue experimenting on his own accord, but perhaps there was a better way to do it. He'd give it a thought or two later.
For the moment, though, there was another task at hand. One he'd have no choice but to start working on now.
After all, the requested reflection paper wasn't going to write itself.

Auris exits.
